Veronica Waechter
(1995- )
Veronica Waechter is a young Gitxsan-European aspiring tattoo artist. Her grandmother is from Gitanmaax, of the fireweed clan. At the age of 2, her family moved to her grandmother’s birth place of Hazelton, so that her father could attend Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art. In 1999, her family moved to Terrace, BC, where she found her love of art in all forms. Veronica decided to get in touch with her Gitxsan roots and enrolled in the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Fine Arts, where she continuously improves her skill and knowledge of First Nations art and culture. She gets her inspiration from her family and the beautiful nature that surrounds her communities.
