James Crawford
Haida (Raven / Killerwhale Clan of Naikoon)
(1980- )
James was born in Prince Rupert and resides in Skidegate on Haida Gwaii. Growing up in the North, he was strongly influenced by his artistic family. He has drawn much of his inspiration from working as a watchman in ancient Haida villages.
“The art and way of life of the old Haida Masters has been my inspiration throughout the years. I am drawn to the bold clean lines of Haida design and enjoy playing with the traditional form.”
Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art, 2010
