“the cover up”

The story to this piece came from watching one of my favourite channels, TCM. Those golden oldies are great to watch, as I find them much calmer and not as drastic as what we are offered now. The humour that was projected then is different than what it is today, with some of it being quite risque and at times a bit more edgy. However, I was watching this particular movie and the scene was a couple in a hotel room. They were both getting dressed — and while she was still just wearing her petticoats — a friend of his just barges into the room… and her partner jumps in front of her to gallantly block his friend’s view of her. Who would do that today?
