“I have always carved bears but wanted to do something different. There are many people carving bears, so I wanted to do something new that would catch the eye of a collector. I started with a dancing bear but wanted to make it with a different base; I began with the idea of it being a mask, but this one became a prowling bear. I have never seen this done before. I have been carving a series of sculptures using different combinations of bears so that is why I call it this. I do carve often, but I am also very busy as chairman of the local youth committee and I also coach minor hockey too.”
