“Walking Against the Wind”

by

“It seems whenever I carve a man’s face that I tend to add detailed wrinkles and make him into an elder. This time I decided to keep him young and have a flowing sculptural feel to the piece. This is young man walking into the wind. The base is an old piece of New Brunswick anhydrite that I had kept from when I lived there. The face is Newfoundland anhydrite gifted to me by Michael Massie. The hood is made from Labrador steatite.”
