“A young couple is dancing together, holding hands; he is moving closer to her, his eyes closed, ready to wrap his arm around her, to embrace her and gently kiss her neck …”

I find that carving antler is much more demanding and time consuming than carving stone. The unpredictable nature and grain of the material makes it very difficult to carve the subtle, intimate expressions in the faces. It takes so much time and concentrations to carve all the detailing like the finger nails, all the creases and folds in the clothing, and the strands of hair. The braid took me many days and it was a real challenge to complete without breaking. Every inch of this piece of antler has been carved by me.
