Evan Aster is a member of the Eagle clan of the Gitxaala Nation. His house clan is the double headed Eagle. Evans traditional name is Boo’ak which means “Man who moves fast, like lightning.” Evan has been practicing art since the age of 10 and he currently works in a number of media including drawing, painting and wood carving. He was greatly influenced by his uncle, Glen Wood, who has been a wood carver for many years, and his cousin, Shawn Aster, who also attended The Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art.
