The pole with Eagle from the Deep. The two faces Wis (male ancestor), Hupa (female ancestor, grandmother). Wis is our Eldest Sibling recognized throughout the Island. The understanding of the warm trade winds and warm currents that came northward from the South Pacific was not at all new to our family. They gained much from this time and watched new things come to them. It brought Eagle from the Deep and many other new things. My grandmother’s tribe is referred to as the Rainbow People (the people who walked down the rainbow to live here). All of our family teachings and history come from them.
