c-sta-inl is a little green bird (canary) that every once in a while our people will see way off shore or high up in the mountains. This little bird knows when you are lost and knows when you need help to find your way home. She gives you calmness. The calmness makes everything stop and become clear. If you are lost high in the mountains, the bird will fly from tree to tree, or will hop in front of you to encourage you to follow her. When all is still with not a sound, you follow her and then you will begin to recognize when you are nearing home. She always looks back at you to make sure you have followed her. She is calm, with complete stillness as she knows her inner self, and passes this onto you. This sculpture is in the shape of a whale fluke with gray whale designs, and here c-sta-inl is guiding the whaler home.
