(1909-?)
Inuit
Arctic Bay, Nunavut Territory, Canada
Pakkak began carving in 1959 when her husband, Lazaroosie Aola became ill and was sent to a southern hospital for treatment. While her husband was away, she supported her family by doing the hunting, and earning money through her carvings. Pakkak’s husband is a carver, although he is not as prolific as Pakkak. Their adopted daughter, Emma Aola is a carver as well as a crafts artist in Arctic Bay. Pakkak’s brother, Zebedee Enoogoo, is also an Arctic Bay carver.
