by

  • Medium: hardcover
  • Size: 7.5 × 6.25 inches, 120 pages

A collection of oral and written knowledge featuring the works of Darcy Nicholas.

Darcy Nicholas: Land of my ancestors is a book about the Maori spiritual ties to the land and the universe told by the Maori painter and sculptor through his art and the oral knowledge handed down to him by his elders. It is superbly designed and illustrated with reproductions of his painting, masks, and writing.

In launching his book in San Francisco in August 2005, the Maori Queen Te Atairangi Kaahu commented: “If you want to know about us it is all in this book, although it is personally written, it is who we are.”
