Life has a funny way of helping you out sometimes! While I was working on this piece - even from the drawing stage - I was looking at the form as something based on Karate or the martial arts, just because of the stance of the owl.
Later, as I was detailing, rasping, and polishing this piece I still wasn’t sure on a title… but all along realized that I was thinking of Karate. It wasn’t until Monday morning when I woke up and put the TV on to catch the news - where the first thing they were taking about was this year’s El Nino - and how the one this year could be the second-worst in recorded history. The funny thing about it was that they have already named this one after Bruce Lee.
I found this quite funny, as being a man of my age, I grew up with Bruce Lee as an idol…and like most guys my age, we all wished we could be like him. I sat there that morning thinking about the old Bruce Lee movies (and, of course, the classic “Enter the Dragon”, which we all watched many times… trying to imitate his every move!).
So, to one of the greatest stars that ever lived - with a little humour - here is “a salute to Bruce Lee”.
