nac-nac-a • April Moon: To Foresee

SOLD

If you are born to be a prophet, you will have a third eye to either see what is coming for our people in the future or have the ability to draw from the knowledge of the grandparents who have gone before us. For our people, when ancestors come back from the other side, they show themselves as very young and give insight into the future. Very early at the first light of a new day, before you wake, the whisper in your right ear gives you songs from the ancients, new names and the movements of nature. In this sculpture we have the grandmother of the spirit world with the power of the eagles, the wealth of the copper in all colours, and the flood canoe. In our family, we are the survivors of the last three floods—this is nac-nac-a.
