“The annual print collection from the Kinngait Studios in Cape Dorset has represented the work of many different artists over the years, each bringing their own unique style and perspective to their work. Many are now gone, and a blend of old and new voices now make up the Cape Dorset stable. Some, like Kenojuak Ashevak, Kananginak Pootoogook, Kakulu Saggiaktok and Pitaloosie Saila have been active in the studios for decades now, and they have created and sustained the platform on which younger artists like Annie Pootoogook, Suvinai Ashoona and Ningeokuluk Teevee now stand, influenced by both their cultural traditions and the increasingly modern community.”
