Andrew Williams
Haida artist
Andrew is from Old Masset in Haida Gwaii, he is Raven Clan.
He has been carving since 1997 with a preference for working in argillite and particularly with inlay work: pipestone (catlinite), abalone shell, and mastodon ivory. He was self-taught for the first year and a half before taking a shaping course taught by Gary Minaker-Russ. He regards his major influences as being Ron Russ, Gary Minaker-Russ, and Christian White.
