Norman McLean Sr.’s name Aalax means “Fierce Warrior”. He is Gisgaast in the House of Guxsan of the Gitxsan Nation. Norman has worked as a traditional artist for over 30 years. He took part in the totem pole restoration project in Gitanyow where he helped carve nine poles. Norman felt honoured to be a part of this project.
