Ross Flowers began carving when he was around eleven years old and started selling his work when he was about thirteen. Though the materials he uses may vary, Ross prefers to work with whalebone and caribou antler. Most of his carvings are sold to Mennonites in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, but occasionally the local craft centre buys his art work. Ross also has taught carving to school children in Hopedale. Ross’ mother is Hopedale crafts artist Nancy Flowers.
