Erich Glendale is Kwakwaka’wakw and was born in Campbell River in 1972, but his roots stem from Knights Inlet. Erich spent part of his childhood in Alberta and Ontario then moved to Nanaimo and began carving during 1990.
Yellow cedar has always been his preference but he also works with red cedar. Rattles, sculptures, bowls, small poles, and talking sticks are some of the things that he has become known for. In 2006 he also began working with silver and gold with the guidance of Nuu-chah-nulth artist Gordon Dick.
