“Billie was born in Clyde River and has lived there all his life. He did his first carving when he was around 12 years old, and was encouraged to continue carving when he sold it to the local co-op in Clyde River. Although he is self-taught, Billie learned by watching other carvers in the community. His favourite subjects to carve are figures and animals such as seals and walrus, and prefers the medium of antler.”
