Eugene Alfred is a Northern Tutchone and Tlingit carver from the Crow clan of the Selkirk First Nations. He works in all woods including local birch, alder, yellow and red cedar, pine, and spruce. Eugene references both sides of his heritage in his work making Tlingit-style masks, bowls, rattles, and panels that are painted with traditional motifs and sculpture that depict Northern Tutchone stories.
Studying under such renowned artists as Dempsey Bob (Tlingit/Tahltan) and Ken Mowatt (Gitxsan), Eugene has established himself as a respected carver. His unique style and expertise has provided him the opportunity to not only produce exquisite collectible artwork, but also become an instructor and pass on his artistry to the younger generations.
Currently, he works and resides in Pelly Crossing, Yukon.
